We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Healthcare Assistant to join our team on Laurel 2 Oncology, based at Worcestershire Royal Hospital.
As a Healthcare Assistant, you will work alongside registered nurses to provide care to patients, assisting with daily tasks such as washing and dressing, serving meals, and monitoring patients' conditions.
You will be responsible for maintaining a safe and clean environment, communicating effectively with patients and their relatives, and ensuring that patients receive personalized care.
Key Responsibilities- Assist with washing and dressing patients, using hoists as appropriate
- Assist with serving meals and feeding patients, including reporting on their intake and recording on charts as necessary
- Assist with toileting, escorting patients to and from the lavatory, and recording outputs where necessary
- Monitor patients' conditions by taking temperatures, pulse, respirations, and weight
- Assist with patients' mobilization, ensuring a safe environment and using appropriate techniques
- Make beds and help to ensure the ward/department is kept clean, tidy, and safe
We are looking for someone with a basic standard of education, including Maths and English, and experience of working in a patient care setting or customer-facing environment.
Previous experience as a Healthcare Assistant is desirable, but not essential. We are committed to supporting your personal growth and development through regular personal development planning and our educational strategy.
