We are recruiting freelance interpreters to work with Language Empire, a leading provider of interpreting and translation services across the UK. Our team delivers high-quality services to public and private sector clients, including the NHS, Local Authorities, Police, and Probation.
As a freelance interpreter, you will work on a self-employed basis, interpreting for individuals using legal, health, and local government services. Your role will involve listening to, understanding, and reproducing speech into the target language with 100% accuracy.
Key responsibilities include:
- Interpreting for people using legal, health, and local government services
- Checking the non-English speaker's understanding after each sentence
- Conference, consecutive, and public service interpreting
- Dealing with highly confidential information
- Liaising between the service user and service provider
Requirements:
- Fluent in English and another language
- All applicants must have the right to work in the UK
- You must be aged 21 or over
- Formal qualifications such as a Diploma in Public Service Interpreting (DPSI), Community Interpreting, or a Degree in Translation/Interpreting/Languages
