Music Educator

Hymers College, a leading independent day school in East Yorkshire, is seeking an exceptional Woodwind Specialist to join its Music Department.

This role reports to the Director of Music and is based at the Hull campus. The successful applicant will have played at a professional level and have a passion for teaching music to all ages of children.

The Music Department at Hymers is vibrant, engaging, and valued throughout the school. It has a long history of excellent music making, providing inspiring musical tuition to students aged 7 to 18 of all standards from beginner upwards.

The successful applicant will be confident conducting, rehearsing, and able to teach a variety of different musical styles.

• Teach individual and paired lessons lasting 20 or 30 minutes, incorporating elements of general musicianship such as ear training and theory, as well as technique and interpretation;
• Arrange lesson schedules and keep pupil registers;
• Prepare for and arrange student examinations in conjunction with the Music Department Administrator;
• Provide reports and feedback to pupils and parents about progress and skills;

The estimated salary for this role is £45,000 - £60,000 per annum, depending on experience.
