About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Substance Misuse Practitioner to join our team in Surrey, UK. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing specialist support and interventions to young people who are at risk of substance misuse.

Job Summary

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and compassionate professional to make a real difference in the lives of young people. You will work closely with our multi-agency team to deliver targeted and specialist support services, including assessment, care planning, and risk management.

Main Responsibilities
  • Developing and monitoring care plans, YPORS risk assessments, and outcomes for young people accessing our service.
  • Working in partnership with criminal justice services to address substance misuse problems and reduce the risk of re-offending.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A relevant qualification in youth work studies, counselling, health and social care, or equivalent.
  • An understanding of children and young people policies.
  • Knowledge of substance misuse and associated risks and harms.
  • Experience of working with young people and providing harm reduction interventions.
  • Broad knowledge of working with young people in group and one-to-one settings.
  • Skilled at delivering one-to-one interventions and group work to young people.
