Job Description

As a Mechanical Engineer at O-I, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our manufacturing plant. Your primary responsibilities will include conducting inspections, repairs, adjustments, and maintenance of all related equipment. You will also be involved in continuous improvement projects within the plant, working closely with cross-functional teams to drive efficiency and productivity.

This is a Monday-to-Friday, day-shift role, with occasional requirements to work outside of core hours to ensure the safety of employees and the manufacturing process. You will work in a variety of environments around the site, including confined spaces, heights, outside, shop floor, and office areas.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct regular equipment inspections and maintenance to ensure optimal performance
  • Perform repairs and adjustments as needed to minimize downtime
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement projects
  • Work safely and effectively in a variety of environments
  • Utilize hand and power tools, including grinder, drill press, caliper, micrometer, protractor, gauges, wrenches, chisels, files, and scrapers
Requirements:
  • Time-served in a mechanical engineering discipline
  • Experience in engineering in a production/manufacturing environment
  • Experience utilizing hand and power tools
  • Qualified mechanically biased engineer
  • FLT license (training provided)
  • IPAF certification
  • Sound attention to detail and ability to work collaboratively
