We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our team at Wakefield Council. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the education and well-being of our students, particularly those with special educational needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the class teacher in the development and implementation of educational activities and Behaviour Support Plans.
- Provide emotional support and guidance to students, promoting their social, emotional, and academic development.
- Establish positive relationships with students, staff, and parents, acting as a role model and setting high expectations.
- Work collaboratively with the teaching team to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
- Support the school's ethos, vision, and values, adhering to policies and procedures.
Requirements
- Proven experience of supporting pupils with challenging behaviors and emotional resilience.
- Ability to work well as part of a team and possess good interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to inclusion and developing the full potential of all students.
- Understanding of Behaviour Support Plans and ability to assist in their formulation and implementation.
- Patience, ability to stay calm, listen, and value students' views.
