Edinburgh, Edinburgh, United Kingdom Ember Full time
About Us

We are Ember, a pioneering technology firm revolutionising public transportation by making it convenient, efficient and environmentally friendly. Our mission is to make transportation easier and more enjoyable than driving a car.

We've developed a cutting-edge platform that coordinates our entire operation, including vehicle monitoring, charger management, ticket sales and ETA calculations. This enables us to utilise electric buses extensively, reducing emissions significantly and providing a better passenger experience with features like demand-responsive stops.

The Role

As the Head of Route Planning, you will be responsible for designing and optimizing our route network across the UK and eventually further afield. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Developing new route ideas, involving research on Google Maps, community engagement and analysis of existing transport alternatives.
  • Crafting dynamic timetables that account for varying traffic conditions and predict stop usage.
  • Overseeing the registration and implementation of timetables, ensuring compliance with local regulations and effective communication with stakeholders.
  • Developing a comprehensive operational plan to execute the timetable, encompassing aspects such as charging facility activation, vehicle preparation, driver recruitment and more.
Diversity and Equality

At Ember, we value diversity and ensure every employee feels respected and able to give their best. We offer flexible working patterns, compassion when needed, enhanced maternity and paternity leave and a commitment to equality.

Salary and Benefits

A competitive salary of £90,000 - £130,000 per annum, dependent on your skills and experience, plus share options through an EMI scheme.

This is a unique opportunity to join a forward-thinking company and contribute to shaping the future of transportation.
