The Opportunity

Leonardo SpA is seeking a highly skilled Production Test Engineer to join our team. As a key player in Aerospace, Defence and Security, we offer a unique opportunity to work on complex system level products and their associated sub-assemblies.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Test and fault diagnosis of complex system level products and their associated sub-assemblies in a high technology aerospace and defence manufacturing environment.
  2. Carry out fault diagnosis to component level.
  3. RF testing.
  4. Identify and pursue solutions to shortcomings with respect to test equipment, test methods and test documentation.
  5. Interpretation and adherence to test specifications.
  6. Interpretation of technical drawings and circuit diagrams.
  7. Electrical Safety Testing.
  8. Product Acceptance Testing.
  9. Vibration and Thermal testing.
  10. Maintain effective and proactive communication with Project, Quality and Engineering functions.
  11. Ensure standard handover procedure and effective communication is applied over all products.
  12. Responsibility for designated 5s areas to be completed in line with daily/weekly/monthly sign off sheets.
  13. Work closely with Systems and Electronics engineers to solve real integration problems on complex systems.
  14. Contribute towards the investigation and analysis of leading edge development methodologies and influence the future path of development within Leonardo.
Requirements
  1. HND or above, in system, electrical, RF engineering.
  2. Understanding of electrical motors, gimbals and how they work.
  3. A good understanding of measurement and test principles, and equipment.
  4. An understanding of RF and Microwave technology at subsystem level would be an advantage.
  5. Experience with focusing cameras/optics and the effect this can have at system level.
  6. Understanding and standard working practices of safety precautions required when integrating or aligning an electro-mechanical device.
  7. Applying statistical process control (SPC) for fault/trend diagnosis within a production environment.
  8. Experience in working in clean rooms - should have an understanding of working in cleanrooms and the importance of this to the quality of the job.
