Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Dysphagia Specialist Speech Therapist to join our Ealing Community Team for People with Learning Disabilities.

About the Role

The post holder will be responsible for assessing, treating, and managing service users with communication and swallowing disorders in various community settings.

You will develop and implement highly specialist SLT management and treatment packages, independently manage and prioritise a specialist caseload, and provide advice to other professionals and carers on the management and care of clients with communication/swallowing disorders.

In addition, you will lead on dysphagia service development and comprise both dysphagia and communication-related work.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess clients with communication/swallowing disorders and develop highly specialist SLT management and treatment packages
  • Independently manage and prioritise a specialist caseload
  • Provide advice to other professionals and carers on the management and care of clients with communication/swallowing disorders
  • Lead on dysphagia service development
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Registration with Health Professions Council as a Speech and Language Therapist
  • Recognised Speech & Language Therapy Degree qualification or equivalent
  • Registered member of RCSLT
  • Evidence of successful completion of courses to Master's degree or equivalent, including postgraduate Dysphagia qualification
