Job Details

Are you passionate about making a positive impact in the lives of children with special educational needs? We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Teaching Assistant to join our team at Danecourt School, a special school catering for primary-aged children with a wide breadth of needs, including complex learning difficulties, autism, and social emotional mental health needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support pupils with specific SEND needs, including ASD, in a stimulating learning environment
  • Assist with lesson planning and delivery, adapting to meet individual needs
  • Provide personal care and hygiene to children as required, with a patient and flexible approach
  • Collaborate with teachers and other support staff to ensure a cohesive and inclusive education
  • Contribute to a positive and respectful school culture, valuing every individual

Requirements:
  • NVQ level 2 or equivalent in child care or SEND practice
  • Experience working with pupils with specific SEND needs, including ASD
  • Excellent numeracy and literacy skills, equivalent to GCSE Grade A-C
  • Ability to work as part of a team, using own initiative and being proactive
  • Commitment to inclusive education and a patient, flexible, and positive manner

Location:
Danecourt School, with satellite provisions at Featherby Primary School, Gillingham & Bligh Primary School, and Strood. You may be required to work at any of the three locations.
