Claims Handling Specialist Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for handling a designated caseload of claims from initial receipt to resolution, ensuring that all necessary information is gathered and processed efficiently. This includes liaising with clients, insurers, and other stakeholders to ensure timely and effective resolution of claims.

Key Responsibilities

  • Handle a designated caseload of claims from initial receipt to resolution.
  • Liaise with clients, insurers, and other stakeholders to ensure timely and effective resolution of claims.
  • Process and review claims documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance with company procedures.
  • Refer complex or sensitive claims to line manager for guidance and support.
  • Assist in the training of new staff members in claims handling procedures and company systems.
  • Contribute to the development of personal knowledge and skills through continued professional development and training.
  • Act as a representative of the company in all interactions with clients, insurers, and other stakeholders, maintaining a professional and courteous demeanor at all times.

Competency Requirements

  • General insurance principles and practice.
  • Class of risk, product, and market knowledge.
  • General insurance regulation and business ethics.
  • Customer care experience.
  • IT proficiency.
  • Numeracy and literacy.
