Executive Chef

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Executive Chef to join our team at Chefs Bay Hospitality.
This role is a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Culinary Specialist to take on a challenging position within a college environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cook food for service in a high-volume kitchen using fresh ingredients and maintaining the highest standards of quality and presentation.
- Organise and prep ahead for future services, ensuring that all necessary ingredients and equipment are available.
- Supervise junior staff to ensure that they are meeting the required standards of quality and safety.
- Collaborate with the head/sous chef on daily orders, ensuring that all menu items are prepared to the highest standard.
- Maintain full knowledge of menu items, recipes, and presentation standards, and ensure that all staff are aware of these.
- Ensure personal hygiene, safety, and proper equipment use at all times.
- Meet deadlines and help others achieve the required standards.
- Monitor food expiry dates and storage, and support stock management and monthly stock takes.
- Manage junior chefs and kitchen assistants when the sous chef is absent.
- Batch cook to reduce waste and ensure proper food labelling, and implement first-in-first-out food rotation and quality checks.
- Clean section fridges and kitchen areas regularly, and consult with the head/sous chef on daily requirements and events.
- Set an example in hygiene and cleanliness, and be flexible and proactive in assisting where needed.
- Maintain kitchen hygiene, completing HACCP and COSHH monitoring, and promote healthy eating and offer educational advice to customers.
Requirements:
- Food Hygiene certificate
- Flexible attitude to working hours and variable shift patterns

- NVQ level 1& 2 or equivalent as a minimum
