About the Role

We are seeking an exceptional Special Educational Needs Coordinator to join our team at Totnes St John Church of England Primary School. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in supporting children with special educational needs and their families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify barriers to learning and develop strategies to overcome them
  • Work with staff and families to formulate personal plans for improvement
  • Use knowledge of the SEN Code of Practice and EHCP process to support pupils and families
  • Provide advice and develop impactful class strategies with teachers
  • Monitor and evaluate the quality and impact of SEND provision
  • Form positive relationships and inspire children to reach their full potential
  • Keep accurate records of support and impact regarding SEND provision
  • Review and update records to ensure statutory requirements are met
  • Work in partnership with the Headteacher and wider community to translate our mission and ethos into action
