Specialty Doctor MOE WSI in Perioperative of Older People in Surgery
Job Summary:We are seeking a highly skilled Specialty Doctor to join our team in the Department of Medicine of the Elderly at Western General Hospital. The successful candidate will have a strong interest in perioperative care of older adults and will work closely with our team of geriatricians and specialist nurses to provide high-quality care to our patients.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide comprehensive geriatric assessment and management of frail older patients undergoing elective surgical procedures
- Work closely with surgeons and anaesthetists to develop and implement realistic decision-making strategies for older patients
- Contribute to service planning, clinical governance, and quality improvement initiatives
- Participate in education and training activities, including mentorship of junior staff
This is an exciting opportunity for an individual with a passion for geriatric medicine and perioperative care to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work in a well-established and evolving multidisciplinary team, with close links with surgeons and anaesthetists.
Requirements:- Full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC)
- At least four years full-time postgraduate training in a specialty training programme or equivalent experience
- Strong interest in perioperative care of older adults
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
