Our client, a prestigious automotive retailer, is seeking an experienced Automotive Technician to join their team in Basingstoke. As a leading provider of luxury car brands in the South of the UK, they offer a unique opportunity for a skilled professional to grow their career.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and repair vehicle faults using advanced diagnostic equipment and a systematic approach.
- Ensure full understanding of the latest technology introduced on the vehicle range and how to diagnose and repair faults on them.
- Carry out diagnosis, repairs, and servicing to the highest standards and to the appropriate specification.
- Ensure all work is carried out observing safe working practices of self and others.
- Liaise and seek advice from colleagues and supervisors in situations that are over and above work specified.
- Check level and quality of work through use of diagnostic equipment and road-testing vehicles after work has been carried out. Liaise with Service Advisor.
- Complete relevant service documentation (job sheets, PDI's, service reports) in line with brand standards, warranty, and site requirements.
- Complete vehicle health checks and CitNOW video in a timely manner (or equivalent).
- Ensure that workshop housekeeping standards are always maintained, including the use of special and personal tools.
Requirements:
- The knowledge to use modern diagnostic equipment.
- The capability of working to the highest quality standards.
- Great communication skills.
- Maintain high standards of house-keeping.
- Prior experience of working to efficiency targets.
- A full UK driving license.
- Experience within a main automotive dealer preferable, but not essential.
- VOSA approved MOT tester an advantage but not essential.
- Must hold Level 2 or Level 3 Vehicle Maintenance and Repair NVQ or equivalent.
