Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Consultant Neuropsychiatrist to join our team at Cygnet Hospital Brunel. This is a fantastic opportunity for a medical professional who is passionate about delivering high-quality care to individuals affected by Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) or Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI).

About the Role

The successful candidate will have overall medical responsibility for patient treatment plans, working closely with the Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) to ensure the best possible outcomes. As a Consultant Neuropsychiatrist, you will be responsible for assessing referrals, undertaking mental state examinations of service users, and developing comprehensive treatment plans.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the implementation of risk assessment, risk management, and clinical governance practices within the ward.
  • Supervise reports for Mental Health Act tribunals and managers' hearings, and attend relevant hearings as required.
  • Participate in ward rounds and clinical audits to ensure high-quality care standards are maintained.
  • Collaborate with the MDT to develop and implement individualized care plans that meet the complex needs of service users.
Requirements

To be considered for this role, applicants must hold GMC registration and be MBBS (or equivalent) qualified. Experience and knowledge in Neuropsychiatry are essential, as well as being familiar with the Mental Health Act and Code of Practice, and the Mental Capacity Act 2005 and Code of Capacity. Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team are also required.
