Purchasers play a crucial role in our Supply Chain team at Gama Aviation. As a key member, you will be responsible for procuring aircraft parts, services, and commercial stock to support MRO RoW operations across all UK facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
• Procure aircraft spares and services cost-effectively to meet MRO needs
• Ensure timely returns of 3rd party cores to retailers as mandated by schedule
• Support remote bases with aircraft maintenance checks
• Maintain order accuracy, including cost, purchasing method, and linked requisitions
• Expedite and progress orders, recording and uploading to the MRO software
• Coordinate forward planning with engineering, planning, and commercial teams
• Provide timely updates on purchased parts and delivery schedules to the MRO RoW
• Inform warehouse staff of inbound priorities and ensure imports/exports coordinator awareness
• Daily reporting to the Procurement shift lead and engineering as required
• Contribute to project reporting and governance against performance KPIs
• Support the wider business as reasonably requested
Requirements:
• Experience in purchasing within manufacturing or engineering environments
• Understanding of manufacturing practices
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills to build relationships with suppliers
• High self-motivation and direction, with keen attention to detail
• Strong organisational skills to prioritise and execute tasks under pressure
• Ability to work collaboratively in a proactive environment
Estimated Salary: £40,000 - £55,000 per annum
