MECHANICAL DESIGN ENGINEER ROLE

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join our client's team in Leeds, West Yorkshire.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Design and develop SPM (Special Purpose Machines) drawings in line with company procedures and machine capability.
  2. Work collaboratively with the team to ensure production deadlines are met.
  3. Utilize strong organizational and attention-to-detail skills to deliver high-quality work.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:
  1. Proven experience in special purpose machinery or similar design environments.
  2. A genuine passion for engineering and a desire to conceive quality solutions.
  3. Strong questioning nature and ability to improve processes.
  4. Degree or HNC qualification in a mechanically oriented engineering discipline.
  5. Experience in machinery design, including mechanical assemblies, linkages, couplings, bearings, gear trains, belts, and pulleys.
  6. Knowledge of CAD software, preferably SolidWorks, Inventor, and AutoCAD Mechanical.
  7. Accuracy and attention to detail, including dimensional and geometric tolerancing.
  8. Computer literacy and working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  9. Excellent communication and time management skills.
  10. Minimum 5 years' experience in high precision manufacturing.
WORKING HOURS & COMPENSATION:

Monday - Friday, 8am-8.30am start, with an annual salary of up to £33k depending on experience.
