About This Role:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Construction Tutor to join our team at a Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in Nottingham. As a Construction Tutor, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality vocational training to students at KS3 and KS4 levels.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons in construction trades, tailored to individual student needs and abilities.
  • Monitor and assess students' progress, providing regular feedback and guidance to help them develop technical skills and confidence.
  • Foster positive relationships with students, encouraging their engagement and motivation in vocational education.

Requirements:

  • At least 1-2 years of teaching or training experience in construction or a related vocational subject, preferably in a PRU or with students who have additional needs.
  • Relevant qualifications in construction trades or building practices, along with a teaching qualification or willingness to work towards one.
  • Experience in managing challenging behaviour and using de-escalation techniques, familiarity with safeguarding policies and procedures.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate students who may have disengaged from mainstream education.
  • Strong technical knowledge of construction practices and trades.
