About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Mental Health Specialist to join our team at First Steps ED. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality support to individuals experiencing eating difficulties and disorders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a caseload of children and young people who use our services, providing individualized support and guidance to help them achieve their goals.
  • Formulate and implement plans with the NHS Care Coordinator to address service users' eating disorder problems, ensuring a comprehensive and evidence-based approach.
  • Implement a range of interventions to tackle eating disorder behaviors, adjusting and refining approaches as needed.
  • Exercise professional responsibility for treatment plan goals, communicating effectively with the NHS Care Coordinator and other stakeholders.
  • Work collaboratively with other NHS services to safeguard and ensure the quality of care for service users.
  • Undertake risk assessments and risk management for individual service users, working with other services to manage identified risks.
  • Develop and maintain close relationships with service users, their families, and other professionals to ensure a seamless and supportive experience.
Requirements
  • Minimum 2 years of mental health experience, with a strong understanding of eating disorders and their impact on individuals and families.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to First Steps ED's policies and procedures.
  • Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle, with a willingness to travel to various locations as required.
