Job PurposeAs the IT Director, you will be accountable for the IT strategy and roadmap, defining guidelines and managing the delivery of a technology stack that supports our evolving business strategy.
You will oversee and control IT operations developed by specialists and partners, ensuring technology is best supporting business activity.
Key Responsibilities- End-to-end responsibility for IT programme delivery, from planning through to design, development, integration, testing, and handover.
- Shaping and designing the IT strategy, accountable for supporting the definition of guidelines and control of developing the technology stack.
- Overseeing impact and feasibility assessments for new and future requirements, providing cost-effective technical solutions.
- Leading all aspects of the definition and development of standards and guidelines for the IT stack.
- Coordinating multiple projects for new or updated applications, maintaining a view of ongoing upkeep and improvement of IT systems.
- Decision-making, showing leadership and making decisions that consider multidimensional impacts.
- Providing programme leadership through formal governance roles and building trusted relationships with collaborators.
- Overseeing technology partners' compliance with SLAs and delivering in line with strategic and financial aims.
- Managing the annual IT capital and operating expense budgets and running reviews, audits, and prioritisation of all IT systems and applications.
- Deep IT expertise in relevant industry, with demonstrable experience and evidence of success in a senior information management role within telecommunications and/or wholesale business areas.
- Comfortable with leading large programmes, familiar with the demands of large-scale IT deployment programmes.
- Shown experience and skills in managing vendors, developing risk-based commercial frameworks, and vendor relationship management.
- Significant commercial skills and experience to develop and challenge costs and benefits in business cases.
- Able to take decisions, assess situations, and make clear decisions timely and in the best interest of the organisation.
- Advanced interpersonal skills, able to relate well to others, dictate responsibilities, offer constructive feedback, influence and persuade, and support and encourage others.
- Industry leadership, constantly scanning the market to understand technology trends and how they may be incorporated to deliver value for our business.
- Experienced in dealing/communicating with the business on IT-related matters in a clear and concise manner.
Experience of operating at a senior management level, preferably in a technical or project management-related role.
