Job Title: Planner

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Planner to join our Development Management Team at the Borough Council of Kings Lynn and West Norfolk.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for the effective negotiation and resolution of planning applications, ensuring that high-quality development is achieved while protecting the environment and conserving the historic character of West Norfolk.

You will work closely with stakeholders to balance the needs of growth and regeneration with the preservation of the borough's unique environment and heritage.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage planning applications and ensure compliance with relevant policies and regulations
  • Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders, including developers, community groups, and other local authorities
  • Contribute to the development of planning policies and strategies to support the borough's growth and regeneration objectives
  • Provide expert advice and guidance to colleagues and stakeholders on planning matters
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A degree in Town Planning or a related field
  • At least two years' experience in Development Management or Planning Control
  • Eligibility for full membership of the RTPI
  • Excellent communication and customer-care skills
