Job Summary

At Home Instead, we are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Weekend Care Professional to join our team. As a Weekend Care Professional, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care and support to our clients in their own homes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Personal Care and Assistance: Provide hands-on assistance with personal care tasks such as bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting, while maintaining the dignity and privacy of each client.
  • Meal Planning and Preparation: Assist clients with meal planning, preparation, and cooking, taking into consideration their dietary preferences, restrictions, and nutritional needs.
  • Medication Management: Prompt clients to take their medications as prescribed and assist with medication management as needed, ensuring adherence to medication schedules and dosage instructions.
  • Companionship and Social Interaction: Foster meaningful companionship with clients by engaging in conversation, participating in leisure activities, accompanying them on outings, and providing emotional support and encouragement.
  • Household Support: Assist clients with light housekeeping tasks such as tidying up living spaces, doing laundry, changing bedding, and organizing belongings to maintain a clean and safe environment.
  • Transportation and Errands: Provide transportation assistance to clients for errands, appointments, and social engagements, using your own vehicle.
  • Communication and Reporting: Maintain open and clear communication with clients, their families, and the care team to ensure continuity of care, report any changes in clients' conditions or needs, and address any concerns or questions promptly and professionally.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Compassion and Empathy: Demonstrate a genuine care and concern for the well-being of clients.
  • Communication Skills: Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with clients, families, and the care team.
  • Reliability and Flexibility: Be reliable, flexible, and able to adapt to changing situations and client needs.
  • Basic Life Support Skills: Possess basic life support skills, including CPR and first aid.
