Job Summary

We are looking for a seasoned financial expert with extensive experience in service charge accounting, to lead our finance team and drive business growth. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of lease structure, VAT, banking, and credit control, as well as advanced Excel skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage a team of 8 direct reports and 3 indirect staff, providing guidance and support to ensure the smooth operation of accounts and credit control teams.
  • Oversee the preparation of monthly management accounts, year-end packs, TBs, Service Charge Year End Accounts, and Year End Reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Supervise and sign off financial documents, working closely with external certifying accountants and maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders.
  • Monitor Purchase Ledger unauthorised bills and report weekly to prevent backlogs, ensuring efficient cash flow management.
  • Prepare monthly analysis of Debtors by site and cost type, interpreting data for non-financial stakeholders and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Develop and implement new accounting processes, ensuring compliance with changing legislation and regulations.
  • Collaborate with the Head of Property to deliver budgets, year-ends, and mid-year reviews on time, driving business success.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in service charge accounting, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality results.
  • ACCA or equivalent qualification, with advanced Excel skills and knowledge of VAT, banking, and credit control.
  • Strong understanding of lease structure, aptitude to read and interpret leases and legal documents, and ability to uphold ethics of service charge management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with colleagues, stakeholders, and clients.
Salary and Benefits:

We offer a competitive salary of £80,000 - £100,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus benefits including a generous pension scheme, health insurance, and paid holidays.
