At Cox Automotive, we're looking for a skilled JLR Technician to join our team in the Mechanical workshops. As a key member of our team, you'll be responsible for ensuring all customer-defined requirements are delivered, achieving operational and customer service excellence.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Carrying out manufacturer-based services, adhering to manufacturer-specific requirements.
  • Performing mechanical and electrical repairs, as well as basic electrical and mechanical diagnostics.
  • Following warranty processes for each manufacturer, while adhering to the correct level of repair.
  • Using initiative and being flexible, reacting to change quickly and effectively.
  • Working as part of a team and individually to achieve successful delivery of departmental demands.

Objectives for this role include:

  • FOLLOWING service processes, adhering to manufacturer guidelines.
  • Following manufacturer processes in carrying out warranty repairs.
  • Delivering work on time and to a high standard, managing individual workload, focusing on own efficiencies, and prioritizing tasks to be achieved.
  • Reading and analyzing data, understanding simple mechanical and electrical faults, and concluding on how to rectify these issues.
  • Ensuring continuous development, working on changing products, and keeping up to date with a changing market.
  • Working as part of a team to ensure successful delivery of the demands of the department.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills, with the ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines, prioritizing workload.
  • Ability to provide a concise and legible write-up of work carried out.
  • Willingness and ability to develop in line with manufacturer-supported training.
  • Willingness to follow manufacturer-supported learning journey to gain manufacturer-supported qualifications.

Requirements for this role include:

  • A full UK driving license, held for a minimum of 12 months.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience of working on motor vehicles.
  • Trained to a minimum of NVQ Level 3 standards or the manufacturer equivalent level.
  • Customer brand qualifications are desirable but not essential, and training will be provided.
  • Basic understanding of EV vehicles – training will be provided.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to learn, read, and analyze data.
  • Able to use own initiative and be flexible, reacting to change quickly and effectively.
  • Ability to adapt to new systems and able to adapt to an ever-changing product, gaining knowledge through manufacturer-supported programs and applying through practical application.
  • Ability to work as part of a team to ensure successful delivery of the demands of the department.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills, with the ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines.
