Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as a Trainee Advanced Paramedic. This exciting opportunity will provide the successful candidate with the chance to develop their clinical skills and knowledge in a dynamic and challenging environment.

Main Duties

The Trainee Advanced Paramedic will be responsible for providing advanced clinical care and leadership in a range of clinical settings, including the Critical Care Desk. The successful candidate will work closely with experienced clinicians and medics to develop their skills and knowledge, and will be expected to demonstrate experience in the full range of Advanced Paramedic competencies within a 2-year period.

Person Specification
  • Essential:
    • Level 7 academic modules in Advanced Practice, Advancing Clinical Practice, or Advanced Clinical Practitioner.
    • Emergency ambulance driving qualification.
    • Recent experience working as a solo prehospital practitioner.
    • Extensive experience working in front-line emergency ambulance response.
    • Significant experience working with and managing staff in a clinical setting.
    • Significant post-registration experience in patient-facing acute care settings, specifically 2 years in an extended skills role SP or suitable setting.
  • Desirable:
    • Recognised teaching or practice education qualification or equivalent demonstrable ability with evidence of teaching in practice and/or classroom situations.
    • Experience of working within an ambulance service operations centre.
    • Experience of working in other clinical settings.
    • Evidence of ability to provide additional support and therapeutic intervention where required for patients with critical care needs.
