Consultant Psychiatrist for Community Mental Health

This is an exciting opportunity for a Consultant Psychiatrist to join our team in South Camden, working within the Core Community Mental Health Team. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide specialist advice and support to GPs, and other practice staff, regarding the assessment and management of mental health difficulties of patients registered with their practices.
Main DutiesKey responsibilities include:
- Providing consultant input and clinical leadership to the South Camden Core Team
- Assisting with diagnosis, formulation, medication reviews, management plans, risk assessments, crisis plans, and self-help plans as required for patients referred to the team
- Conducting direct clinical assessments of patients registered with South Camden GP practices and providing follow-up as necessary
- Maintaining effective communication with GPs, primary care staff, patients, and their carers
- Working flexibly within timetabled working hours to prioritize urgent clinical matters
- Liaising and working closely with local IAPT services and other primary care providers to provide a joined-up primary care mental health service

Person SpecificationWe are looking for a Consultant Psychiatrist with the following essential qualifications and experiences:
- Full registration with the GMC and a license to practice
- Membership of the Royal College of Psychiatrists or equivalent higher qualification in psychiatry
- Section 12(2) and Approved Clinician status (or eligibility) to act as a Responsible Clinician
- Registered with the Royal College of Psychiatrists CPD programme and in good standing
