Transforming Young Lives through Youth Justice

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Youth Justice Team Practitioner to join our dynamic team at Essex County Council. As a key member of our team, you will play a pivotal role in transforming young lives and reducing youth offending.

Your Mission:

As a Youth Justice Team Practitioner, your mission is to work collaboratively with families, schools, and key agencies to address the root causes of youth offending. You will represent the Youth Justice Service at multiagency forums, securing better outcomes for our youth.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assessments with young people/families for Out of Court Disposal Panels
  • Completing Reports for Referral Order Panels/Court
  • Supervising a caseload of young people who are subject to Out of Court Disposals/Court orders
  • Attending professional meetings for young people
  • Court duty for Remand or Youth Court
Requirements:
  • Qualified and registered Social Worker or professionally accredited qualification
  • Experience in working with young individuals with complex needs and families
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written
  • IT proficiency and ability to maintain impeccable records on our YOS case management system
