We are seeking a skilled Dog Behaviour Rehabilitation Specialist to join our team at Dogs Trust. The successful candidate will assist with the assessment and behavioural rehabilitation of dogs in our rehoming centre, working closely with our behaviour team to design and implement Behavioural Modification Programmes (BMPs) to enhance each dog's chances of rehoming.

About this role:

  • Assess the behaviour of dogs before they enter our care and during their stay to identify potential behaviour needs.
  • Design and implement BMPs to support the centre's priorities based on individual dog welfare and requirements.
  • Train and support colleagues on the implementation of BMPs.
  • Provide excellent customer service to members of the public and adopters.

About you:

The successful candidate will have a good knowledge of dog behaviour and welfare, including understanding the principles underlying learning and the ability to write training and behaviour programmes. You'll have excellent communication skills and the ability to handle difficult dogs.

What you need to know:

A full, manual driving licence is essential for this role, as driving will be a part of the job. Working times are Monday to Sunday on a rota basis, 8am-4:30pm / 8:30am-5pm (subject to change).
