We are seeking a highly skilled Heavy Goods Vehicle (HGV) Technician to join our team at Biffa Wigan Depot.


The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of vehicles and waste management handling equipment, ensuring they meet health and safety legislation and DVSA requirements.


As an HGV Technician, you will also carry out scheduled preventative service and maintenance inspections to meet Biffa’s operator’s licence commitments.


The role requires strong technical knowledge, attention to detail, and excellent problem-solving skills. We are looking for professionals with experience in similar roles, such as PSV Mechanic, Heavy Goods Technician, Lorry Mechanic, LGV Technician, or HGV Mechanic.


If you are a skilled or semi-skilled Technician, we can offer upskilling and career development opportunities.


Key Responsibilities:



  • Maintain and repair HGV vehicles and waste management equipment to meet health and safety standards
  • Carry out scheduled preventative service and maintenance inspections
  • Meet Biffa’s operator’s licence commitments

Requirements:



  • Fully qualified HGV/PSV technician with level 3 qualification or equivalent
  • Minimum car/van driving licence
  • HGV licence desirable
  • IRTEC Qualification desirable
