Tyre Performance Specialist
Mclaren Racing is seeking a highly skilled Tyre Performance Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have proven knowledge and experience in tyre understanding and analysis, as well as wider vehicle modelling.
About the Role
- We are looking for an experienced Tyre Performance Specialist to provide event support for all matters relating to tyres, including tyre operations and tyre performance.
- The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and presenting pre-event, on-event, and post-event reports for Vehicle Performance, Race Engineering, and the wider team.
- You will analyse and understand the tyre performance of the car and how it interacts with the overall vehicle performance.
- Develop and progress tyre analysis methods, processes, and toolset to continuously improve and advance the tyre analysis capability and efficiency.
- Strong interaction with the other groups within Vehicle Performance, Race Engineering, and the wider Engineering Department.
Requirements
- Proven knowledge and experience in tyre understanding and analysis, as well as wider vehicle modelling.
- Good data-driven analysis skills and the ability to extract meaningful data from a dataset and present it in a clear and concise manner.
- Knowledge of tyre performance analysis.
- Experience in a Performance Engineering or Race Engineering role.
- Understanding of trade-offs in race car setup with regards to tyres, mechanical setup, and aerodynamics.
- Experienced in using MATLAB for analysis tool development.
- The ability to follow vehicle development directions and their interaction with tyre performance.
