Construction Training and Development Manager

As a key member of our team, the Construction Training and Development Manager will play a crucial role in developing and delivering training programs for our construction staff. This role requires a combination of construction expertise, training experience, and a passion for developing others.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Design, develop, and update training programs for construction staff, Construction Managers, and Site Managers to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their roles effectively and safely.
  2. Create engaging training materials such as manuals, presentations, and e-learning modules to support the training programs.
  3. Ensure training programs align with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies to maintain a high level of quality and compliance.
  4. Embed Field View, Bellway's field-based digital platform for site teams, into our training programs to enhance operational efficiency.
  5. Conduct classroom-based and on-site training sessions to facilitate knowledge transfer and skill development.
  6. Utilize various training methods, including hands-on demonstrations, workshops, and interactive activities to engage learners and promote retention.
  7. Assess the effectiveness of training programs and make improvements as needed to ensure continuous learning and development.
  8. Provide ongoing support and mentorship to our employees to enhance their skills and performance.
  9. Conduct regular evaluations and provide feedback to employees to help them improve their skills and career progression.
  10. Assist in the development of individual training plans and career progression paths to support employee growth and development.
  11. Ensure all training programs comply with health and safety regulations to maintain a safe working environment.
  12. Promote a culture of safety on all construction sites to ensure the well-being of our employees and stakeholders.
  13. Stay updated on industry regulations and best practices to ensure training content is current and relevant to our operations.
  14. Maintain accurate records of training activities, attendance, and certifications to track employee development and compliance.
  15. Prepare regular reports on training progress and outcomes for senior management to inform business decisions and strategy.
  16. Track and analyze training metrics to identify areas for improvement and optimize our training programs.
Requirements
  1. Proven experience in the construction industry with a strong understanding of construction processes and practices.
  2. Previous experience in training within the construction sector with a focus on developing and delivering training programs.
  3. Knowledge of best practices in construction and a passion for training and development.
Qualifications and Training
  1. Relevant qualifications in construction management, education, or a related field.
Skills and Aptitude
  1. Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to engage and motivate learners.
  2. Proficiency in using training software and e-learning platforms to create and deliver training content.
  3. Excellent organizational and time management skills to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects.
  4. Patient, approachable, and supportive in nature with a commitment to continuous professional development.
  5. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail to ensure high-quality training programs and materials.
  6. Ability to work independently and as part of a team to achieve business objectives.
  7. Committed to staying current with industry trends and best practices to maintain our competitive edge.
Role and Working Conditions

The Construction Training and Development Manager will be office-based with regular travel to development sites and for meetings. The role requires flexibility in respect to day-to-day duties and hours worked.
