Software Development Engineer in Test

We are seeking a skilled Software Development Engineer in Test to join our team at Amazon. This role will be responsible for ensuring the quality of our core products, including doorbell cameras and security cameras. The ideal candidate will be curious, creative, and goal-oriented, with a passion for software quality and consistency.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will:

  1. Drive the vision and implementation of test infrastructures and frameworks that enable developers to write reliable tests.
  2. Help solve complex challenges and coach other engineers to foster a culture of high standards.
  3. Provide patterns and examples for the team to automate tests for various types of testing, including service integration tests, functionality tests, and performance tests.
  4. Plan and create tools to automate manual tasks and aid in operational work.
  5. Participate in design and code inspections.
  6. Develop and deploy new test frameworks and monitoring systems.
Requirements
  • 1+ years of experience in building test automation frameworks and tools.
  • 2+ years of professional software development testing experience.
  • Experience programming with modern languages such as Java, C++, or C#.
  • Experience in penetration testing and exploitability-focused vulnerability assessment.
  • Experience in platform-level security mitigations and hardening for Linux and Windows.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of overall system architecture, scalability, reliability, and performance in a database environment.
  • Experience with security in service-oriented architectures and web services.
  • Experience with cloud technologies (AWS) will be advantageous.
  • Familiarity with testing performance across assorted network quality and conditions.
  • Experience in testing secure, multi-platform applications and/or consumer devices.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor junior software engineers in all aspects of their engineering skill-sets.
