Job Title: Childcare Specialist
Estimated Salary: £25,000 - £35,000 per annum
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Childcare Specialist to join our team at Step By Step Nursery. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and education to young children.
About the Role:
In this rewarding position, you will be responsible for ensuring the physical, emotional, social, and intellectual well-being of our children. This will involve creating a nurturing environment that promotes learning, development, and inclusivity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safeguarding: Reporting any concerns to the Manager/SENCO while maintaining confidentiality as necessary.
- Maintaining confidentiality regarding children, parents, or staff information.
- Creating an inclusive environment that caters to individual children's needs, taking into account disabilities, family cultures, and medical histories.
- Collaborating with outside agencies and professionals to provide additional support.
- Maintaining good health and safety standards, hygiene, and cleanliness.
- Adapting to changing circumstances and undertaking other duties as required.
- Contributing to daily checklists and monthly risk assessments.
- Effectively using nursery equipment while considering health and safety requirements.
- Developing and maintaining partnerships with parents/carers.
- Supporting nursery assistants, students, and volunteers.
- Working with other agencies to support children when necessary.
- Engaging in out-of-hours activities, such as training and staff meetings.
- Completing core training courses (first aid, safeguarding, food safety) funded by the company.
- Pursuing opportunities for professional development and improvement.
Training and Development:
We prioritize internal development and training courses to achieve excellence. Our specialist training includes safeguarding, working with parents, infant & child nutrition, child protection, key person, paediatric first aid, and food safety & hygiene.
Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you should hold a recognized Early Years qualification or be willing to undertake training. You will also be subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
