Job Summary

University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust is seeking a skilled dietitian to join their team. As a Rotational Dietitian, you will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality dietetic care to patients. This role offers the opportunity to work in various specialties, including community, acute medicine, oncology, and gastroenterology. Successful applicants will be expected to develop and implement patient care plans, participate in staff teaching and training, and contribute to the delivery of a Trust-wide dietetic service.

Main Duties

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Providing comprehensive dietetic assessments and developing patient care plans in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
  2. Participating in the education and training of healthcare professionals and students.
  3. Conducting audits and quality monitoring to ensure the delivery of high-quality dietetic care.
  4. Liaising with food services to ensure the provision of therapeutic diets to inpatients.
  5. Contributing to the achievement of clinical outcomes through individual and team effort.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment. A strong understanding of dietetic practice, including anthropometry, biochemistry, and pharmacology, is essential. The role offers opportunities for professional development and continuous learning, with a focus on delivering high-quality patient care.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess a BSc in Human Nutrition and Dietetics, with HCPC registration. Previous experience in a healthcare setting and demonstrable experience in audits, research, and CPD are desirable. The successful candidate will be expected to work flexibly over a 7-day period and maintain a professional appearance.
