Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our Young People's service in Redbridge as a Young Person's Practitioner.

The successful candidate will deliver early intervention and prevention work, providing specialist drug and alcohol treatment to young people.

  • Prevent young people from engaging in substance misusing and risk-taking behaviours.
  • Enable young people to develop boundaries, emotional resilience and self-esteem.
  • Actively support young people to reduce and/or stop harmful behaviours such as drug and alcohol consumption, encouraging prosocial and healthy alternatives.

The Young Person's Practitioner will be part of a dynamic team and will work closely with young people, their families, and carers to provide comprehensive assessment, care planning, and risk management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver brief interventions, resilience training, and harm minimisation.
  • Liaise with and work in partnership with key agencies and stakeholders, including the YOS, CAMHS, social services, schools, and colleges.
  • Deliver structured group work to young people.
  • Involve and support families and carers of YP accessing the service.

Location:

The role is predominantly based interchangeably between Barkingside and Ilford Chambers, with travel to schools and satellites within the borough.
