About the Role

Solent Mind is seeking a skilled and compassionate Peer Support Specialist to join our team. As a Peer Support Specialist, you will work closely with our NHS colleagues to provide peer support services within local communities, enhancing mental health care at the primary level.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with primary care colleagues to identify individuals who may benefit from peer support and develop plans to support them.
  • Provide one-to-one and group support to individuals, managing a caseload and helping them access necessary resources.
  • Work closely with other team members and services to support individuals in a collaborative, person-centered manner, including helping them identify and articulate their needs and goals.
  • Support individuals in developing and utilizing skills and techniques to promote their well-being.
About You

You will have a strong understanding of the role of peer support in mental health and the ability to utilize your lived experience to positively impact others. Additionally, you will be able to manage time and competing priorities, take responsibility for your work, and maintain a high level of accountability.
