About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Build Engineer to join our team. As a Mechanical Build Engineer, you will be responsible for building and testing electrical systems, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver technical projects, and providing feedback on areas of concern and suggestions for improvement.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Build and test electrical systems to specification and in line with required safety standards.
  2. Liaise with key stakeholders to critically review technical drawings and build quality.
  3. Collaborate cross-departmentally to deliver technical projects.
  4. Proactively share skills and experience to provide feedback on areas of concern and suggestions for improvement.
  5. Identify root causes of mechanical faults and implement solutions accordingly.
  6. Travel for the purposes of installation of robotic automation systems at client sites.

Requirements
  1. Qualified to HNC in a mechanical-focused course, or mechanical apprentice trained, or equivalent level of experience.
  2. Good level of machining skills, using milling machines and lathes.
  3. Drilling, tapping, and grinding skills alongside general mechanical workshop skills.
  4. Ability to communicate at all levels in both written and verbal English.
  5. Confident in reading and understanding technical electrical drawings.
  6. Willingness, interest, and ability to rapidly learn new technology.
  7. Proactive problem solver.
  8. Good understanding of how industrial systems work, particularly with regard to safety systems.
  9. Able to plan workload and complete tasks autonomously.
  10. Ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  11. Holds a full UK driving licence.
  12. Working knowledge and appreciation for all elements of health and safety.
  13. Willing and able to travel to customer sites.
