As a DevOps Engineer at Roke, you will thrive on providing technical leadership and working closely with customers to maintain the operational integrity of mission critical services in a National Security environment.

You will be responsible for providing technical leadership and ensuring the successful delivery of software rollouts that enable the nation's safety. This will involve working directly with customers to provide a strategic link and ensuring continued operational integrity of services that are strategically important to the nation.

Roke is a leading technology and engineering company with clients spanning National Security, Defence, and Industry through our Futures business and Intelligence as a Service. You will work alongside our customers to solve their complex and unique challenges.

As our next DevOps Engineer, you will operate with customer availability as a priority, catching issues early and ensuring continued operational integrity of services. You will also develop and deploy code, ensuring best practice of the DevOps team you lead.

The Key Requirements

  • Willing to embed with customers in secure environments on a regular basis
  • Experience operating in a DevOps environment, utilising pipeline tools such as Jenkins or Gitlab for CI/CD
  • Experience deploying rollouts with containerisation technologies such as Kubernetes, Helm or Docker
  • Exposure to Infrastructure as Code technologies (IaC) such as Ansible or Terraform
  • A coding background which includes utilising languages such as Python, Javascript (React / Vue desirable) or Java and Spring Boot
  • Experience of fault finding and problem solving

You will find our Gloucester site in a business park two minutes from junction 11A of the M5; The site allows easy access to our local customer base. Set on the outskirts of the Cotswolds, you are never far from a picturesque view or lunchtime walk.
