About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated Civil Engineering Development Specialist to join our team as a Structural Engineering Coordinator. This is an exciting development role that offers the opportunity to learn about telecommunications, civil and structural engineering.

You will be working closely with a cross-functional team of industry experts, gaining hands-on experience and exposure to various technologies, network architectures, and protocols. As you progress in your role, you will have the chance to contribute to future initiatives that drive efficiencies and could transform how our business operates.

Key Responsibilities
  • Shadow the structures team to gain knowledge in various aspects of telecoms civil and structural engineering.
  • Support with the provision of calculations and design.
  • Undertake site visits to develop your understanding of on-site operations.
  • Assist with assessing design concessions to ensure compliance with standards.
  • Support in the production and maintenance of guidance documents to promote consistency among customers and suppliers.
  • Locate and share important documentation between the structures team members to facilitate effective collaboration.
  • Contribute innovative ideas and support the implementation of initiatives to enhance business efficiency.
  • Provide administrative support to the structures team, ensuring seamless daily operations.
  • Contribute actively to health and safety, environmental, business continuity, and information security arrangements that meet our obligations to our customers.
  • Assist in managing audits, reviewing, and reporting on the quality of output from principal designers to the structural engineering manager and HSQE.
  • Engage with key stakeholders and stakeholder groups connected to the design function, providing excellent communication and presenting design solutions effectively.
Requirements
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of the telecoms industry, including UK Mobile Network operators.
  • 1-3 years of experience in Structural Engineering or a related field.
  • Degree relevant to Civil or Structural Engineering, accredited by the Engineering Council.
  • Excellent IT skills, particularly in using Microsoft applications.
  • Good communication skills and a proactive attitude.
  • Ability to undertake climbing and/or rooftop, working at heights training.
  • Capacity to confront and discuss challenging situations to foster understanding and respect among team members.
Salary and Benefits

The estimated salary for this role is £35,000 - £45,000 per annum, depending on experience. In addition to a competitive salary, we offer a range of benefits, including opportunities for professional development and a supportive work environment.
