Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Civil and Structural Engineer to join our client's design team. The successful candidate will be responsible for producing technical documentation to high professional standards, working on challenging programmes and budgets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and/or check design calculations to ensure accuracy and compliance with industry standards.
  • Supervise the production of and check drawings/specifications for compliance with calculations.
  • Prepare technical specifications, reports, and scopes of work to meet project requirements.
  • Conduct technical analysis of proposals provided by equipment manufacturers and contractors.
  • Coordinate and liaise with other engineering disciplines to ensure seamless project delivery.
  • Interpret vendor drawings and information to ensure accurate design implementation.
  • Work within design budgets and programmes to meet project deadlines.
  • Comply with the company's quality management systems to ensure high-quality deliverables.
  • Report to the Lead Civil Engineer and contribute to the overall success of the project.
Requirements
  • University degree in Civil and Structural Engineering or a related field.
  • Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status is preferred but not essential.
  • Background in heavy engineering, chemical, or petrochemical industries, particularly in reinforced concrete foundations, sub-structures, aqueous retaining structures, and general infrastructure works.
Desirable Skills
  • Excellent English language skills, both written and spoken.
  • Specification and report writing skills, preferably with experience in Eurocodes, British Standards, and Codes of Practice.
  • Awareness of and compliance with the company's quality management system procedures and requirements.
Software Knowledge
  • IT literacy and experience with design and analysis software, preferably Tekla and ROBOT & TEDDS.
