Senior / Principal Geotechnical Engineer

Job Summary

Successful applicants will be required to independently review and critique geotechnical data, derive appropriate design soil parameters, and apply these in a variety of standard and non-standard geotechnical engineering applications to the highest quality and health and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage technically and commercially successful projects
  • Lead and develop teams of geotechnical engineers
  • Supervise routine and non-standard engineering projects
  • Recommend and implement improvements in operational and technical areas
  • Develop and maintain technical skills in energy and infrastructure geotechnical design
  • Collaborate with clients and internal teams to deliver high-quality projects
Requirements
  • Robust academic background with relevant degree (e.g. civil engineering, geotechnics or similar) ideally at MSc level or above
  • Excellent technical skills in energy and/or infrastructure geotechnical design
  • Demonstrable experience in project management and people management
  • Chartered status or close to achieving it
  • Knowledge of key industry design standards and codes
  • Ability to interpret and critique results from laboratory testing
  • Competence in using geotechnical engineering software
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
