We have an exciting opportunity for a volunteer to join our team as a HALO Helping Hands supporter at South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust in Treliske, Cornwall.
About the Role
This role is ideal for someone who is looking for a rewarding experience that makes a real difference to people's lives. As a volunteer, you will be working closely with our ambulance crews and hospital teams to ensure smooth transitions of patients from ambulances to hospital care.
Main Responsibilities
- To provide support to ambulance crews and hospital teams in managing patient flow and ensuring timely off-loading of patients.
- To communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals to provide high-quality patient care.
- To work collaboratively with the team to promote a positive and inclusive environment.
- To maintain confidentiality and adhere to data protection policies.
- To participate in training and development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge.
Requirements
- Experience in dealing with diverse age groups and social backgrounds.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Good time management and organisational skills.
- Able to use initiative and be self-motivated.
- Ability to develop effective working relationships with colleagues and the public.
- Able to interact with people from diverse cultural and social backgrounds.
- Able to promote equality and value diversity.
- Able to ensure care of own health and wellbeing to promote improvements to physical and emotional wellbeing.
Salary
An estimated salary range of £22,000 - £25,000 per annum, depending on experience.
