About the Role
The organisation is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Finance Manager to join the finance team. You will play a key role in ensuring strong financial control and reporting across the charity's operations. Reporting into the Head of Finance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Financial Leadership: Lead the finance team, providing guidance on budgeting, financial planning, and management accounting.
  • Strategic Financial Planning: Develop and monitor financial strategies aligned with organisational goals, supporting long-term sustainability.
  • Management Reporting: Prepare and deliver accurate and timely financial reports, including budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis, to senior leadership.
  • Grant and Project Oversight: Ensure effective financial management of grants, projects, and funding agreements, ensuring compliance with donor requirements and regulatory standards.
  • Business Partnering: Work closely with non-finance stakeholders, providing financial support, insight, and challenge to drive operational efficiency and decision-making.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for improving financial systems, processes, and controls to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
  • Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure financial compliance with charity regulations, including SORP, and oversee risk management processes.
  • Management Team Contribution: Actively contribute to all aspects of business management, helping to embed a culture of business discipline and continuous improvement.

About You:
To be successful, you should have professionally qualified (ACCA/CIMA) or, qualified by experience, with an in-depth understanding of business/financial management and reporting in a not-for-profit setting. A proven track record of financial management, preferably within the environmental, conservation, or not-for-profit sector, is essential. Strong leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills are required, as well as the ability to communicate financial information to diverse audiences.
