Job Summary

Somerset NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Mental Health Specialist to join our Early Intervention in Psychosis (EIP) service. The successful candidate will provide triage of initial referrals, assessment, outreach, education, and liaison for young people and adults with first-episode psychosis.

Key Responsibilities
  • Providing triage of initial referrals, assessment, outreach, education, and liaison for young people and adults with first-episode psychosis.
  • Working collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to reduce the duration of untreated psychosis.
  • Providing supervision to junior staff and coordinating care for clients.
Requirements
  • A registered Mental Health Nurse, Occupational Therapist, or Social Worker with current registration and post-qualifying experience in community mental health services.
  • Experience in managing physical health, including observation skills, phlebotomy, and ECGs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to present cases to multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Flexible and adaptable, with excellent organizational skills and ability to manage time effectively.
Salary and Benefits

£35,000 - £45,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus benefits including flexible working, pension contributions, and annual leave allowance.
