About the Position

We are seeking a Hardware Engineer for Satellite Systems to join our team, supporting the product development lifecycle for the specification, design, and validation of satellite communication products.

The ideal candidate will have strong commercial experience in a hardware product design role, with a focus on complex, high-speed circuits implemented as high-density, multi-layer PCBs.

The estimated salary for this role is around £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience.

Main Responsibilities
  1. Support the product development lifecycle for the specification, design, and validation of satellite communication products
  2. Producing circuit design, including schematic capture, component selection, and simulation
  3. Directing the in-house and 3rd party PCB layout design teams
  4. Delivering prototype and product quality manufacturing work-packages
Requirements
  • BSc or equivalent in Electronics or other relevant discipline
  • Strong commercial experience in a hardware product design role
  • Design of complex, high-speed circuits implemented as high-density, multi-layer (10+) PCBs
  • Circuit and PCB design and simulation tools (e.g. SPICE, Cadence)
  • Hands-on experience in the design of products that contain microcontrollers / digital signal processors / FPGA / ASIC
  • High-speed digital interfaces (e.g. USB, PCIe)
  • RF design
  • High reliability system design (Space, Military, Automotive)
  • DC/DC power supply design
  • Environmental, thermal, safety, and EMI/EMC standards
  • Practical use of scripting languages (Tcl, Python, Perl)
