Job Title: Electromagnetic Compatibility Specialist

At Leonardo UK Ltd, we are seeking a highly skilled EMC specialist to join our team in Yeovil, Somerset.

Key Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will manage and implement activities required to design, develop and qualify system installations and rotary wing platforms in response to customer requirements and certification regulations, for electromagnetic effects. This may involve working with regulatory agency representatives and customers to establish compliance strategy, system/installation design activities within multi-disciplinary project teams, vendor qualification management and witnessing, leading varied platform trials and analysis activities and compiling evidence in support of certification/qualification.

Requirements:

  • Certification/Qualification; CS27/CS29/Def Stan 00-970.
  • Aircraft system installation design and compliance demonstration considering antenna siting and radar cross-section, bonding/EMC/HIRF/EED/Static/Lightning indirect effects/direct effects zoning and protection; ED-107A, ED-81, ED-91, ED-113, AC20-158/136, SAE equivalents, Def Stan 59-411 & 59-114.
  • Vendor qualification; DO-160, Def Stan 59-411, MIL STD 461.
  • Leading platform EMC/E3 trials activities.
  • Management and analysis of Radiation hazards to Fuel (HERF), Personnel (HERP), Ordnance(HERO), Electromagnetic Pulse (EMP), Portable Electronic Devices, TEMPEST.
  • Use of Electromagnetic Simulation tools such as CST to support design and platform analyses.

Salary: £65,000 - £90,000 per annum, depending on experience.

Benefits: Hybrid working, permanent contract, full security clearance required.
