We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Head of Lighting and AV to join our team as a full-time member. This individual should be multi-skilled with a broad knowledge of Technical Theatre Production, including Audio, Video & Lighting.


Job Description:
  • Maintain all Lighting and AV equipment as instructed by the creative team, aligning with artistic requirements.
  • Manage the lighting department, a team of volunteers, including scheduling staff and liaising with training.
  • Adhere to health and safety guidelines and maintain a well-organised, clean and tidy technical space.
  • Able to work in high-pressure situations, to fixed deadlines.
  • Manage the Lighting and AV systems during all stages of YMBBT including the build installation, operation and testing, show nights and the get out.
  • Collaborate and communicate effectively with other departments.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate and maintain lighting and AV equipment as specified by the creative team.
  • Carry out daily safety checks on all equipment and systems in use.
  • Monitor and record any mandatory equipment inspection/testing regimes.
  • Interpret lighting and AV designers' plans.
  • Build relationships with suppliers for delivery and ongoing support of the show systems.

Requirements:
  • Previous experience of Lighting and AV installation and show running, preferably in a large scale theatrical production.
  • Knowledge and awareness of current H&S Legislation and industry best practice.
  • Experience in leading a team.

What We Offer:

Estimated salary: £40,000 - £60,000 per annum, depending on experience.
