Salary: £40,000 - £60,000 per annum
About the RoleWe are seeking an experienced KS1 teacher to join our team at a Lambeth-based special educational needs school. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in working with students with severe learning difficulties (SLD) and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment, developing individualized learning plans that promote engagement, independence, social skills, literacy, and numeracy skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement personalized educational programs
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including therapists and educational psychologists
- Foster a positive and supportive classroom atmosphere
- Monitor and assess student progress, adapting approaches as needed
- Engage with parents and caregivers to support student development at home and in school
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- Strong knowledge of SLD or working with young pupils with a diagnosis of ASD
- Experience working in a special needs education setting is preferred
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
