About the Opportunity

This permanent position offers a competitive salary of £45,000 - £55,000 per annum (dependent on experience), flexible working hours, and a comprehensive benefits package including 28 days holiday + 8 Bank Holidays, company pension, and private health care. Our client is committed to providing a modern and considerate working environment, with a low staff turnover rate.

As a Geotechnical Design Expert, you will be responsible for designing and detailing various geo-structural projects, including soil nails, rock anchors, sheet piles, secant piles, foundations, temporary works, earth retention, excavation support, ground improvement schemes, and interpreting ground investigations to identify risks and provide technical solutions.

You will also prepare and check technical reports, ensure project compliance with design codes and regulations, promote a culture of awareness, and collaborate with civil and structural departments to deliver cross-departmental projects. Additionally, you will work closely with industry partners, including architects, contractors, local authorities, and engineers to deliver projects that meet client requirements.

To succeed in this role, you will need to have a degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering with geotechnical modules, preferably chartered status with an accredited body, and significant geotechnical design experience. Proficiency in software such as AutoCad, Masterseries, SCIA Engineer, WALLAP, QGIS, Civils 3D, is essential, as well as excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to work individually or as part of a team.
